Interview with Daria Kirpach:
Have you studied art formally?

I started drawing as a child. In 1998 undertook the direction of illustration while attending the Academy of Fine Arts of Saint Petersburg in Russia, where I was born and grew up.
To communicate with children, to educate them through art is my greatest ambition. In editorial illustrations I try to tell the younger generation the eternal values of peace, love, compassion, ecology and world culture, through my use of color, clean line work, immediate and clear concept.

Is there an artist whose work you admire? What is it about their artwork that intrigues you?

Looking for my artistic identity, I have been influenced by the great Russian masters including A. Bilibin, A. Benoit & Leon Bakst. Between 19th and 20th century in Russia took place the great return of the traditional fairy tale. I grew up with this work.

How did you arrive at your current style?

Inspired by traditional illustration, made with manual techniques, I instead use digital technique as my artistic language. Color for me is a powerful way of expressing my ideas in illustration. During my career I started collaborating with important US and European magazines. Conceptual illustration is my career path in recent years.

What techniques or authors inspired you?

In 2005 I moved to Italy to finish my course of study. Here I have been strongly influenced by the works of great artists of classical and modern Italian art and design. I have travelled a lot and I have seen many wonderful places and museums around Europe so I consider myself lucky to be able to make my passion my profession.
Providing the most professional and talented illustrators in the world for over thirty years.
